UBS will pay approximately 3 billion francs (a completely similar figure in euros) to acquire Credit Suisse. The Swiss bank has just confirmed in a statement that the payment, which will be paid entirely in shares, values the bank at around 0.76 francs per title. Initially, it had been indicated that the purchase could have been around 2,000 million.
“Under the terms of the share transactions, Credit Suisse shareholders will receive 1 UBS share for every 22.48 Credit Suisse shares they own, which is equivalent to CHF 0.76/share for total consideration of CHF 3,000 million,” the bank said in a statement released in parallel to the press conference in Switzerland.
The bank also anticipates that the operation would be positive in terms of earnings per share in 2027 and that the operation will allow the bank to continue to be well “capitalized” with a capital ratio above 13%.
