This is the application created by two people from Segovia that does not leave hoteliers and consumers out of the picture

IN COLLABORATION WITH TELEFÓNICA

Digitization and connectivity have accelerated progress in multiple sectors and have obtained great benefits for both users and companies themselves. However, there is still room for improvement in taking advantage of the virtues of technology in the hospitality business. Teikei, a new application created by two brothers from Escalona del Prado, a small town in Segovia, aims to help improve the occupancy of this type of premises while serving as a guide and offering exclusive benefits to consumers.

Víctor García Sanz and his twin brother Andrés are the protagonists of this Telefónica story that highlights the importance of inclusive digitization and within the reach of all and affects how technology allows people and companies to communicate, connect and grow . This inclusive motivation followed by Telefónica is vindicated with its latest spot under the hashtag #TodosEnLaFoto. In this way, the company defends that no one can be left ‘out of the picture’ and seeks to promote the progress of society as a whole and at a global level, because we are the people who give technology real meaning. Each one of us has in our hands the power to make communities grow, something that is only within reach when there are more opportunities for everyone.

This application was born from the need to provide local hospitality establishments with tools that can be essential to improve performance, occupancy and business visibility: “We are giving a tenacious tool to any local hospitality establishment so that they can help them to have greater visibility and in which we have a new sales channel, a system in which they can pay through the application in the stores that are attached to the service”, explains the CEO and co-founder of Teikei, Víctor García Sanz .

“We have a system where you can pay through the application”

This project prepared by these brothers is one of those that has received advice and multiple mentoring thanks to the acceleration program of the Telefónica group. In this way, the Spanish company encourages entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as helps emerging technology projects such as Teikei. Through Wayra, the most global and connected open innovation hub in the world, Telefónica has made an investment of more than 160 million euros in startups from 24 different countries so that they can provide their contributions to society.

What are the fundamental advantages?

In addition to serving as a guide for all users who are looking for a place to hang out, it recommends the establishments that best suit their interests, preferences, and plan types. Due to its short time since it was launched, its operation is limited to Madrid, but in the plans of these entrepreneurs it is to expand in the first quarter of 2023 to Bilbao, Barcelona, Valencia and Malaga.

But Teikei’s big draw for both consumers and hoteliers is cashback. This functionality makes it possible to carry out a study of the supply and demand of each establishment and to set rates that optimize income: “Within the platform there is a tool that optimizes income, through which hospitality establishments can jeer a cashback percentage, depending on the demand peaks they have, in order to attract and retain customers ”, indicates Víctor.

The hotelier is not the only beneficiary of the use of cashback. The application assures you that in the place where this functionality is activated they will have a space and will offer an economic reward: “They can configure in which peaks they want to put the cashback by day of the week and by time. The user earns money because a percentage returns within the virtual wallet that our application has so that you can spend it in any of the sites that are attached to the service.”, details the CEO.

Next steps of the project

“We are both from a town in Segovia and have always lived in different cities and in different countries. Due to the difficulty of finding premises or a place to go when you return to a city after a while, we came up with this project. There is a lot of information at the blog level, but in the end it costs you a lot of time”, says Víctor, whose previous work and life experience prompted him to formalize Teikei together with his brother and another employee who deals with communication tasks.

After months of gestation of the application, Teikei is a reality that can be enjoyed in Madrid and, soon, in other cities in Spain. For the project to settle, connectivity was essential: “I started full-time and my brother joined the project in May of this year to dedicate himself 100% to it. He from Valencia and I from Madrid, with a communication that It has always been very fluid, because we are twin brothers and we have never had any problems at this level because we already knew each other”.

“Communication with my brother has always been very fluid despite being in different cities”

The confidence in the future of Teikei on the part of these brothers is total, since they are convinced that with their functionalities they will attract more and more people: “For us the visibility of the project is essential to make ourselves known and for users to know what that we are creating. It is much more than an application, it is a lifestyle and it is a way of consumption. It was not only created to find places, but also to enjoy the gastronomic and cultural experience. It is not only what you see , the physical”, concludes Víctor.

How Teikei works

Teikei manages to help hospitality businesses and the users themselves through its mobile application available for IOs and Android smart devices. This platform shows consumers the hospitality businesses and all their information, as well as a specialized guide that makes it easier for them to know all the nearby establishments according to the customer’s preferences. Meanwhile, the stores attached to Teikei are encouraged to consume during off-peak hours thanks to connectivity and digitization.
