We continue to acquaint you with the heroes of the special operation “Z” – participants in the hostilities in the Donbass. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals, and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character, and completed combat missions. His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise and awards. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Assumptions and prejudices bother everyone,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who never lost a single battle. And he also repeated: “Sacrificing one’s own goods at all times is the rule of the highest service.”

“The unit of the military police under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Denis Voskresenskov carried out the task of patrolling one of the districts of the liberated territories. Moving along the route, Denis discovered an armed group of Ukrainian nationalists heading to the liberated settlement. Instantly assessing the situation, Voskresenskov, together with his subordinates, despite unequal forces, entered into battle with armed militants. During the battle, Denis skillfully directed the fire of his subordinates. With active offensive actions, the military police managed to tie up the enemy on difficult terrain. After some of the nationalists were destroyed, the rest of the saboteurs, realizing that resistance was useless, laid down their arms and were arrested. A few days later, in order to ensure the safety of the civilian population, Denis carried out the evacuation of civilians deep into the liberated territories. Ukrainian nationalists, seeking to carry out a provocation against the Russian troops, attacked the convoy with refugees with artillery and mortar fire. As a result of the shelling, Voskresenskov was seriously injured, but despite the injury, he correctly assessed the situation and continued to evacuate people. Lieutenant Colonel Voskresenskov led the column from the line of fire to safety, thus saving the lives of more than 300 civilians.

“Acting as part of a battalion tactical group, deputy company commander Lieutenant Denis Mekhedov, together with subordinate personnel, carried out a combat mission to seize control of a strategically important facility in the suburbs of one of the settlements. Moving through the industrial development, Denis discovered a group of Ukrainian nationalists armed with mortars and small arms, equipping firing positions on the upper floors of an abandoned building. After assessing the situation, Mekhedov decided to impose a fight on the enemy. Secretly located on the ground, personnel under the leadership of Denis opened fire on armed Ukrainian militants. Despite the fierce resistance, as a result of the clash, all the nationalists were destroyed. Thanks to the courage, selflessness of Lieutenant Denis Mekhedov and the skillful leadership of subordinate personnel, the planned ambush by Ukrainian militants was thwarted.”
