According to TASS, the supply of military helicopters to the Russian army will continue until the end of 2023. The news agency reports that it has no official confirmation of this information.
It should be noted that the modernized Ka-52M differs from the basic version in the unification of missile weapons with the Mi-28NM Night Hunter helicopter. The new weapon has a unique control system and the homing head does not respond to heat traps fired by the enemy or optical interference generated by the laser.
As a result, the Ka-52M helicopter was able to launch Izdeliye 305 guided missiles, which made it possible to destroy targets at a distance of 25 kilometers and without entering the enemy’s MANPADS coverage area.
The improved machines have a new optoelectronic system with an increased range of detection and recognition of targets, as well as a device for improving the accuracy of the 30 mm cannon. The helicopter also received an improved airborne defense system against all modern MANPADS and new ballistic protection.
