Stevens Named Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year

DULUTH, Ga. – Cassie Stevens of Auburn has been named the 2023 SEC Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Stevens, a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., holds a 4.00 grade point average in Information Systems Management. She has competed in the all-around in all but one meet during the 2023 regular season and is currently ranked 19th nationally in the all-around. Stevens earned three all-around titles this season along with three on vault, one on bars and one on beam. During her senior campaign, she set or tied career-highs on vault (9.975), bars (9.925), beam (9.950) and floor (9.925). Stevens has scored 39.500 or higher in the all-around six times this season, including a season-high 39.600. Her scores have counted 37 times out of a possible 39 routines this year.

Stevens is a three-time Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-American who was also named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. She earned a spot on the Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll twice and on the 2019-20 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. Stevens is also a member of the 2020 SEC All-Freshman Team and the 2021 All-SEC Team.
