The military department reported that, in accordance with the instructions of the President of Russia, a ceasefire was declared in the area of the special operation from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7 in the entire line of contact.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also fired at the positions of the Russian troops: in the Krasno-Limansky direction, the enemy fired four mortar attacks at the Russian positions, in the LPR – three artillery attacks, in the Zaporozhye region – eight artillery strikes.
The positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from where the shelling came, were suppressed by return fire from Russian troops.
Earlier, the DPR said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired on Donetsk several times immediately after the silent regime, announced in connection with Orthodox Christmas.
Russia earlier announced a ceasefire along the entire line of contact in connection with Orthodox Christmas. In Kyiv, Russia’s proposal for a regime of Christmas silence was rejected.
