This Sunday marks the end of the Christmas holidays marked by a return to normality after the last two years marked by restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Spaniards have taken advantage of these days to travel, many of them by train, in fact, Renfe will transport a total of 300,000 people this weekend in its AVE, Avlo, Alvia, Euromed, Intercity and Media Distancia services in the operation of Christmas return.
The company has offered five million seats this Christmas. The most demanded destinations have been Madrid, Barcelona, Galicia, Andalusia and the Mediterranean Coast, Renfe has detailed them.
To the AVE, Avlo, Alvia, Euromed and Intercity services, the offer of public service trains has been added, which on Media Distancia routes link and structure the rest of the territory. In addition, travelers have had the Cercanías services that allow them to explore the big cities.
This Christmas offer on Renfe trains will avoid the circulation of 2.5 million cars, which means a saving of close to four million liters of gasoline, and the corresponding reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions into the atmosphere.
