According to the Prime Minister of Poland, the death penalty “should be considered and not act recklessly.”
Morawiecki also said the death penalty was abolished prematurely in several countries, including Poland, and “was…an invention of the 1990s or earlier.”
But “for especially serious crimes, it should be allowed,” the Polish prime minister stressed.
In Poland, the death penalty was abolished exactly 30 years ago, in 1992. And in 1997, this article was included in the new Criminal Code.
