At the same time, Mariani did not mention specific dates for the possible start of negotiations. He only clarified that we are talking about months, since the mild winter in Europe allows local authorities not to make quick decisions on this issue.
As the deputy noted, the West knows that it will not be possible to avoid contacts with the Russian Federation for a long time, because liquefied natural gas is expensive, the alternatives found have turned out to be ineffective, and group purchases, apparently, do not work.
Earlier, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov said Germany’s refusal of Russian gas, which came via Nord Stream, caused a “big rift” between Europe and the Russian Federation. According to him, the blue fuel deliveries created “special” relations between Moscow and Berlin even during the Cold War period. And its completion sets countries back 50 years.
