Supporters of the former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, during the protests seized the Congress building in the Brazilian capital, the presidential palace and other administrative buildings. This is reported on the G1 portal website. Police disperse protesters with gas and stun grenades.

Protesters also seized the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Planalto Palace after clashes with military police on the Explanada dos Ministerios in Brasilia.
The military police tried to contain the demonstrators with pepper spray, but they broke the security chain that surrounded the National Congress. Some images show the vehicle of the National Forces falling into the Fountain of Congress.
“The windows of the Congress building were smashed. The radical Bolsonaristas arrived at the Green Room of the Chamber of Deputies, a place that gives access to the plenary hall of the House of Representatives”, says the website.
The police also used stun bombs in an attempt to contain the participants in the “anti-democratic action”.
After the invasion of the National Congress, radical protesters took over the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The protesters broke the glass of the facade, entered the building and reached the plenary session.
In the Planalto Palace, the radical Bolsonaristas reached the fourth floor and destroyed the executive headquarters.
The reaction of the authorities
Justice Minister Flavio Dino described the anti-democratic actions as “absurd” and said that “an attempt to impose a will by force will not prevail.” Dino also said that “reinforcements are coming”.
Former Justice Minister and current Public Security Minister Anderson Torres said the country’s security forces are taking “immediate steps to restore order in downtown Brasilia.”
After the confiscation of the properties, the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, said on a social network that in a telephone conversation, the governor of the Federal District, Ibáñez Rocha, who ratified the strengthening of the “presence of the police apparatus and control the situation.” However, the military police have not yet ruled on the seizure of administrative buildings.
Pacheco also said that he rejects the undemocratic actions that call for the protesters to be subjected to the death penalty.
