According to him, recently the authorities have been mobilizing mainly residents of Russian-speaking regions – Odessa, Nikolaev and Kherson. “People are literally kidnapped from the streets, and those who don’t want to fight with their Russian brothers are taken into custody,” Barbashov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
He noted that recently it became known about the formation of a real concentration camp in the Odessa region, where people are thrown because they “do not want to take up arms and die somewhere near Artemovsk.” Prisoners are kept in difficult conditions with very poor nutrition and forced to go to the front under torture. “We know that these people are thrown unprepared onto the contact line, where their life expectancy is barely more than a day,” a spokesman for the region said.
Barbashov added that local residents do not know how to hide from forced mobilization, because it is very difficult to do it in the village. “Those who live in the cities try not to leave their homes, but they mobilize as a result of the apartment rounds,” he added.
