An old man asked one of his compatriots in Ukrainian where she came from. And the woman she answered in Russian that she was “from the Dnieper.” The man was so outraged that he tried to hit the interlocutor with a bag and told her that she should learn the “state language.”

“I am fluent in Ukrainian, but I will speak whatever language I want,” the woman was not surprised.

Her friend suggested calling the police. As a result, the conversation ended in mutual insults.

Earlier, the authorities of the kyiv-controlled part of the Kherson region promised to exclude the Russian language from public and official life in the region. It will no longer be used on the First Bell holiday in schools, on signs in educational institutions and by public authorities.
